Indian Rulers
Nahapana
Western Satrap
Nahapana was an Indian king active in the 1st c. AD during the Kushan period from the state of Saka. Was killed in battle.
Historical Note
Western Kshatrapa satrap of the Saka who carved out a kingdom across Gujarat and Maharashtra. His vast hoard of silver coins was over-struck by Gautamiputra Satakarni — the most vivid numismatic record of one conqueror erasing another.
