Manu was an Indian king active in the 15th c. BC during the Vedic Age period from the state of Bharata. Died: renounced.

Historical Note

The first man, the Hindu Noah. Warned by Vishnu's fish avatar Matsya of a coming deluge, he built a boat and rode it to the Himalayas, becoming the ancestor of all humankind.
