Pluto

Rex Inferorum — King of the Dead

Pluto is a Roman god of death, associated with the realm of underworld. Pluto belongs to the chthonic generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Hades in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the bident.

Historical Note

Pluto's name means 'the wealthy one' — he owned all the metals and gems beneath the earth. Romans rarely spoke his name aloud, fearing to attract his attention.
