Chinese Battles

Mobei

The Battle of Mobei was fought in 119 BC in Steppe during the Western Han era, a land engagement against Xiongnu. It ended in victory for the Chinese side.

Historical Note

Wei Qing and Huo Qubing crossed the Gobi to strike at the heart of Xiongnu power. The Chanyu fled into the steppe; the Xiongnu never threatened Han China the same way again.
