Chinese Battles

Muye

The Battle of Muye was fought in 1046 BC in Central Plains during the Western Zhou era, a land engagement against Shang. It ended in victory for the Chinese side.

Historical Note

King Wu of Zhou crushed a Shang army many times his size. Tradition says the slaves and prisoners in the Shang front line defected on contact, ending 600 years of Shang rule in an afternoon.
