Chinese Battles
Mayi
The Battle of Mayi was fought in 133 BC in Steppe during the Western Han era, a ambush engagement against Xiongnu. It ended in defeat for the Chinese side.
Historical Note
Wu of Han laid a trap for the Xiongnu with a city full of cattle and bait soldiers. A captured Han herdsman betrayed the plan. The Chanyu turned back — and the long Han-Xiongnu war began openly.
