Chinese Battles

Pengcheng

The Battle of Pengcheng was fought in 205 BC in Central Plains during the Chu-Han era, a land engagement against Chu. It ended in defeat for the Chinese side.

Historical Note

Xiang Yu's most stunning victory. With 30,000 cavalry he scattered Liu Bang's 560,000-strong coalition in a single morning. Liu Bang barely escaped with his life — twice nearly throwing his children from the carriage.
