Indian Battles
Govardhana
The Battle of Govardhana was fought in 124 AD in Deccan during the Kushan era, a land engagement against Western Satraps. It ended in victory for the Indian side.
Historical Note
Gautamiputra Satakarni crushed Nahapana of the Western Satraps near Govardhana (Nashik) and took every Saka silver coin in the treasury — they survive today re-struck with his own portrait over the Greek king's face.
