Indian Battles
Khemakhamada
The Battle of Khemakhamada was fought in 170 BC in Deccan during the Post-Maurya era, a land engagement against Satavahanas. It ended in victory for the Indian side.
Historical Note
Kharavela of Kalinga, in the fourth year of his reign, marched west and humbled the Satavahana king Satakarni at Khemakhamada. The Hathigumpha inscription lists it — boastfully — as a campaign Satakarni did not expect.
