Hephaestus

Lame God of the Forge

Hephaestus is a Greek god of fire, associated with the realm of olympus. Hephaestus belongs to the olympian generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Vulcan in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the hammer.

Historical Note

Hephaestus was thrown from Olympus — either by Zeus in a quarrel or by Hera, ashamed of his ugliness. He took revenge on Hera by forging a golden throne that trapped her.
