Leuctra

The Battle of Leuctra was fought in 371 BC in Central Greece during the Classical era, a land engagement against Sparta. It ended in victory for the Greek side.

Historical Note

Epaminondas stacked his left wing fifty shields deep and obliterated the Spartan right. Spartan military dominance of Greece ended in a single afternoon.
