Greek Battles

Cnidus

The Battle of Cnidus was fought in 394 BC in Anatolia during the Classical era, a naval engagement against Sparta. It ended in victory for the Greek side.

Historical Note

Conon, commanding a Persian-funded fleet, destroyed the Spartan navy. Sparta's brief thalassocracy was over and Athens rebuilt the Long Walls with Persian gold.
