Bastet is an Egyptian goddess of love, associated with the realm of earth. Bastet belongs to the first generation of the pantheon. Symbolised by the cat.
Historical Note
Cat-goddess of Bubastis. Originally a lioness fierce as Sekhmet, she softened over the centuries into the household cat — protector of cats, of children, of the home, and of music. Herodotus described her festival as the rowdiest in Egypt.
