Egyptian Mythology
Ptah
the Craftsman — Who Spoke the World
Ptah is an Egyptian god of creation, associated with the realm of earth. Ptah belongs to the primordial generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Vulcan in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the was scepter.
Historical Note
Patron of Memphis and of all craftsmen, scribes, and builders. The Memphite Theology has him create the world by thinking it in his heart and speaking it with his tongue — a theology older than Genesis by two thousand years.
