Atum

the Self-Created — Father of the Ennead

Atum is an Egyptian god of creation, associated with the realm of cosmos. Atum belongs to the primordial generation of the pantheon. Symbolised by the sun disc.

Historical Note

Rose alone from the primordial waters of Nun on the first morning, and from himself produced Shu (air) and Tefnut (moisture) — by sneezing them out, or by another act not for polite company. From them descended the entire Ennead.
