Egyptian Battles
Weni's Campaign
The Battle of Weni's Campaign was fought in 2280 BC in Levant during the Old Kingdom era, a land engagement against Sand-Dwellers. It ended in victory for the Egyptian side.
Historical Note
Pepi I's general Weni led five separate campaigns against the 'Sand-Dwellers' of Sinai and southern Canaan — and on the fifth, transported troops by ship to a 'Nose-of-the-Gazelle' hill to outflank them. The first amphibious operation recorded in any language.
