Egyptian Battles

Reunification

The Battle of Reunification was fought in 2060 BC in Upper Egypt during the Middle Kingdom era, a land engagement against Heracleopolis. It ended in victory for the Egyptian side.

Historical Note

Mentuhotep II of Thebes — eleventh-dynasty prince of a fractured land — defeated the rival Heracleopolitan kings of the Delta after fifty years of intermittent war. He took the throne names 'Uniter of the Two Lands' and founded the Middle Kingdom.
