Second Megiddo

The Battle of Second Megiddo was fought in 609 BC in Levant during the Late Period era, a land engagement against Judah. It ended in victory for the Egyptian side.

Historical Note

Necho II marched north to help the dying Assyrian empire against Babylon. King Josiah of Judah barred the pass at Megiddo; Necho killed him with an arrow. The death of Josiah is the moral hinge of the Books of Kings.
