Pelusium II

The Battle of Pelusium II was fought in 343 BC in Delta during the Late Period era, a siege engagement against Persians. It ended in defeat for the Egyptian side.

Historical Note

Artaxerxes III broke through the Pelusiac branch of the Nile after fifteen years of failed Persian attempts. Nectanebo II fled south to Memphis, then onward to Nubia. He was the last man born on Egyptian soil to wear the Double Crown.
