Egyptian Battles
Gaza
The Battle of Gaza was fought in 312 BC in Levant during the Ptolemaic era, a land engagement against Antigonids. It ended in victory for the Egyptian side.
Historical Note
Ptolemy I, with Seleucus at his side, smashed the cavalry of Demetrius Poliorcetes south of Gaza. The victory restored Coele-Syria to Egypt for two generations — and let Seleucus march east to recover Babylon.
