Zhurong

Lord of Fire

Zhurong is a Chinese god of fire, associated with the realm of heaven. Zhurong belongs to the first generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Vulcan in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the flame.

Historical Note

Sky-god of fire, executioner for the celestial court. Sometimes son, sometimes grandson, of Huangdi — the genealogy is, like fire, unstable.
