Fuxi

First of the Three Sovereigns

Fuxi is a Chinese god of wisdom, associated with the realm of heaven. Fuxi belongs to the primordial generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Hermes in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the square.

Historical Note

Husband-brother of Nüwa. Taught humans fishing, animal husbandry, and the eight trigrams of the Yi Jing — the diagram that explains the cosmos.
