Tamer of the Floods — Founder of Xia
Yu the Great is a Chinese sage king of water, associated with the realm of earth. Yu the Great belongs to the sage king generation of the pantheon. Roughly equivalent to Poseidon in cross-pantheon mapping. Symbolised by the bronze tripod.
Historical Note
Spent 13 years draining China's great flood — passing his own door three times without entering. His descendants founded the Xia dynasty, China's first.
