Chinese Battles

Cai

The Battle of Cai was fought in 223 BC in Yangtze during the Warring States era, a land engagement against Chu. It ended in victory for the Chinese side.

Historical Note

Wang Jian invaded Chu with the staggering force of 600,000 men. He sat in fortified camp for a year refusing battle. When the impatient Chu army finally pulled back, he struck. Chu was annexed; Qin had only Qi and Yan left.
