Indian Battles
Sakala
The Battle of Sakala was fought in 155 BC in Indus Valley during the Post-Maurya era, a siege engagement against Indo-Greek. It ended in defeat for the Indian side.
Historical Note
Menander made Sakala — modern Sialkot — into the eastern capital of the Indo-Greek world. The Milindapanha describes a city of moats, gates, and Greek philosophers debating Buddhist monks in the agora.
