Tutankhamun was an Egyptian pharaoh active in the 14th c. BC during the New Kingdom period from the state of 18th Dynasty. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Ten years old at his accession, dead by nineteen. Inconsequential in his lifetime but immortal because his tomb was never robbed — Carter opened it in 1922 and found 5,398 objects, including the most famous golden mask in human history.
