Ptolemy XII was an Egyptian pharaoh active in the 1st c. BC during the Ptolemaic period from the state of Ptolemaic. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Cleopatra VII's father. Paid Pompey and Caesar enormous bribes to keep the Roman annexation of Egypt off the agenda. The Romans called him 'the Flute-player' and despised him; he played flute, restored the temples, and bought his throne another generation of life.
