Lucius Junius Brutus was a statesman of the Roman Republic active in the 6th c. BC originally from Italia. Held power for 1 year and was killed in battle.
Historical Note
Founded the Republic by expelling Tarquinius Superbus in 509 BC. First consul. Executed his own sons for plotting to restore the monarchy. Killed in single combat at Silva Arsia.
