The Battle of Vercellae was fought in 101 BC in Italia during the Republic era, a land engagement against Cimbri/Teutones. It ended in victory for the Roman side.

Historical Note

Marius and Catulus annihilated the Cimbri after years of terror. 100,000 dead and 60,000 enslaved — Italy was saved, and Marius the un-aristocratic novus homo was hailed third founder of Rome.
