Roman Battles

Mylae

The Battle of Mylae was fought in 260 BC in Italia during the Republic era, a naval engagement against Carthage. It ended in victory for the Roman side.

Historical Note

Rome's first naval victory. The newly-invented corvus boarding ramp turned a Roman fleet into floating legions and broke Carthaginian sea power.
