Yudhishthira

Dharmaraja

Yudhishthira was an Indian king active in the 11th c. BC during the Vedic Age period from the state of Kuru. Died: renounced.

Historical Note

Eldest of the Pandavas. Lost his kingdom, his brothers, and Draupadi in a rigged dice game, regained them through the Kurukshetra war, then walked the Himalayas to heaven with a dog at his side — the dog was Dharma itself.
