Skandagupta was an Indian emperor active in the 5th c. AD during the Gupta period from the state of Gupta. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Defeated the White Huns of Hephthalite Iran in a campaign so costly it broke the imperial treasury. The Bhitari pillar describes him spending his nights on bare earth before the decisive battle. He saved India for one more generation — then died.
