Milinda the Saviour
Menander I was an Indian king active in the 2nd c. BC during the Post-Maurya period from the state of Indo-Greek. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
The Indo-Greek king the Indians called Milinda. Ruled from Bactria to the Punjab. His dialogues with the Buddhist monk Nagasena — the Milindapanha — converted him to the Dharma and became a Buddhist classic. His ashes were divided like a Buddha's.
