Greek Battles
Crannon
The Battle of Crannon was fought in 322 BC in Central Greece during the Hellenistic era, a land engagement against Macedon. It ended in defeat for the Greek side.
Historical Note
Antipater defeated the Greek alliance that had risen on news of Alexander's death. Athens surrendered, Demosthenes fled, and a Macedonian garrison was installed on the Acropolis. The Lamian War — Greece's last bid for freedom — was over.
