Egyptian Pharaohs

Pepi II

the Hundred-Year King

Pepi II was an Egyptian pharaoh active in the 22nd c. BC during the Old Kingdom period from the state of 6th Dynasty. Died of natural causes.

Historical Note

Came to the throne at six and ruled for as many as 94 years — the longest reign in human history if true. By the time he died the Old Kingdom was exhausted; within a generation Egypt dissolved into the First Intermediate Period.
