Menkaure was an Egyptian pharaoh active in the 25th c. BC during the Old Kingdom period from the state of 4th Dynasty. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Built the third and smallest Giza pyramid. Herodotus reports he was warned by an oracle he had only six years to live, and so spent his time feasting under torchlight to double them.
