Ahmose I was an Egyptian pharaoh active in the 16th c. BC during the New Kingdom period from the state of 18th Dynasty. Died of natural causes.
Historical Note
Drove out the Hyksos who had ruled the Delta for a century, taking the rebel capital Avaris and chasing the survivors into Canaan. Founder of the 18th Dynasty and of the New Kingdom — the most glorious age of Egypt.
