Egyptian Battles

Yenoam

The Battle of Yenoam was fought in 1290 BC in Levant during the New Kingdom era, a siege engagement against Canaanites. It ended in victory for the Egyptian side.

Historical Note

Seti I's first campaign as pharaoh. He restored Egyptian control of the Beth-Shean route through Canaan with three rapid sieges — Yenoam, Beit Shean, and Hammath. His Karnak reliefs show the battles in detail; his army returned to a hero's welcome at Thebes.
