Andros

The Battle of Andros was fought in 246 BC in Aegean during the Ptolemaic era, a naval engagement against Antigonids. It ended in defeat for the Egyptian side.

Historical Note

A second Macedonian naval victory under Antigonus II, fifteen years after Cos. The Ptolemaic League of Islands dissolved; the Cyclades, long a Ptolemaic protectorate, passed permanently into Macedonian and then Rhodian hands.
