Wu Qi

the Iron General

Wu Qi was a Chinese general active in the 4th c. BC during the Warring States period from the state of Chu. Was assassinated.

Historical Note

Author of the Wuzi, second only to Sun Tzu in the military canon. Reformed the armies of Lu, Wei, and Chu. Shot down by Chu nobles at his patron-king's funeral — clutching the corpse so the arrows hit them both.
