Carrhae

The Battle of Carrhae was fought in 53 BC in Mesopotamia during the Republic era, a land engagement against Parthia. It ended in defeat for the Roman side.

Historical Note

Crassus invaded Parthia for glory and found a catastrophe. His son's head was used as a stage prop in a Greek play.
