Udayin was an Indian king active in the 5th c. BC during the Mahajanapada period from the state of Magadha. Was assassinated.
Historical Note
Grandson of Ajatashatru. Moved the Magadhan capital from cliff-bound Rajagriha to a new town at the confluence of the Ganges and Son — Pataliputra, the city that would dominate India for a thousand years.
