Pisistratus was a Greek tyrant active in the 6th c. BC during the Archaic period based in Athens. Died of natural causes.

Historical Note

Three-time tyrant who stabilized Athens, patronized the arts, established the Panathenaic Games, and commissioned the first written edition of Homer.
