Chabrias was a Greek strategos active in the 4th c. BC during the Classical period based in Athens. Was killed in battle.

Historical Note

Athenian strategos. At Thebes in 378 BC, his men received a Spartan charge on bended knee with spears braced — a tactic Athens still commemorated centuries later. Died boarding an enemy ship at Chios.
