Archidamus II was a Greek king active in the 5th c. BC during the Classical period based in Sparta. Died of natural causes.

Historical Note

Spartan king who reluctantly led the invasions of Attica in the first years of the Peloponnesian War — the 'Archidamian War' is named for him. Died still trying to dictate a peace.
