Pylos

The Battle of Pylos was fought in 425 BC in Peloponnese during the Classical era, a siege engagement against Sparta. It ended in victory for the Greek side.

Historical Note

Athenian general Cleon trapped 292 Spartiates on the island of Sphacteria — the first time Spartans ever surrendered en masse. It shocked all of Greece.
