Greek Battles
Chaeronea (Sulla)
The Battle of Chaeronea (Sulla) was fought in 86 BC in Central Greece during the Hellenistic era, a land engagement against Rome. It ended in defeat for the Greek side.
Historical Note
Sulla annihilated Mithridates' general Archelaus on the same Boeotian field where Philip II crushed Greece three centuries earlier. Greek antiquity ended; Roman Greece began.
