Teti was an Egyptian pharaoh active in the 24th c. BC during the Old Kingdom period from the state of 6th Dynasty. Was assassinated.
Historical Note
Founder of the 6th Dynasty. Married into the line of Unas to legitimize his rule. Manetho reports he was killed by his own bodyguards — the first recorded pharaonic assassination, and the start of the Old Kingdom's slow unraveling.
