Xiang Yu

Hegemon-King of Western Chu

Xiang Yu was a Chinese general active in the 3rd c. BC during the Qin period from the state of Chu. Took his own life.

Historical Note

Champion of the anti-Qin revolt, undefeated in 70-some battles. Lost the empire to Liu Bang at Gaixia (202 BC) and took his own life on the bank of the Wu River rather than be captured.
