Spartacus was a Thracian rebel active in the 1st c. BC during the Late Roman Republic period. Was killed in battle.
Historical Note
Thracian gladiator who led the Third Servile War (73–71 BC) — defeated multiple Roman armies before being crushed by Crassus. Six thousand of his men were crucified along the Appian Way.
